Just like EVERYONE expected, following a sweep by the Royals, the White Sox swept the AL’s finest New York Yankees. And guess who rolls into town? The AL subpar Seattle Mariners. As we’ve been cognitively trained from this team, we expect our Pale Hose to be swept again. Makes sense since the newest member of the perfecto club isn’t pitching this weekend. Oh and the Seattle media has contemplated ceasing coverage of the team. And because Seattle is coming in winning 8 games in a row. Dealt pocket Jacks against pocket Kings. *sigh* BUT KEEP SPIRITS HIGH MY FELLOW YOUK LOVERS. IF YOU DON’T LOVE YOUK GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE. This team comes back. They get down and they come back. It’s beautiful. Possibly the greatest quality a team can have, Robin’s team has: they don’t count themselves out.
In that giant tire fire of a town they call Detroit, those drunks led by drunkard Miguel Cabrera are managing to barely hold on to their second place. They did so this week by sweeping that stupid Toronto team. Luckily they’ll face off against a real team in The Angels of Anaheim. Doug Fister is scratched from his Saturday start for them, so they’ll be throwing three 4-A starters against a major league lineup. Bet you had Matt Garza now you spoiled idiots. Because you need a third base prospect instead of a MLB caliber starter this year.
Probable Starters
Game 1: Friday, August 24, 7:10 PM CDT
Jake Peavy (9-9, 3.11 ERA) vs. Justin Vargas (13-8, 3.53 ERA)
Game 2: Saturday, August 25, 6:10 PM CDT
Jose Quintana (5-2, 2.76 ERA) vs. Blake Beaven (8-7, 5.00 ERA)
Game 3: Sunday, August 26, 1:10 PM CDT
Gavin Floyd (9-9, 4.56 ERA) vs. Kevin Millwood (4-10, 4.29 ERA)
Series Studs
DeWayne Wise: Yankees fixed him, Sox reap rewards. Kenny for GM of the year.
The Mariners: They’ve won 8 in a row. Seriously.
Series Duds
Dayan Viciedo: Hitting .182 in 22AB since the KC series. WE NEED MORE BULLETS.
The Seattle Media: They don’t get to come to Chicago this weekend. They’re the biggest losers.
