MADISON, Wis. — Senior Frank Kaminsky has been named to the 2014-15 preseason All-American team as announced by the Associated Press on Monday. Since 1995-96, when the AP started its preseason squad, Kaminsky is the first player in Wisconsin history to earn such distinction.

Kaminsky is joined on the AP preseason All-American team by North Carolina junior Marcus Paige, Louisville junior Montrezl Harrell, Wichita State junior Fred VanVleet and Duke freshman Jhalil Okafor.

The preseason Big Ten Player of the Year, Kaminsky led Wisconsin averaging 13.9 points and 6.3 rebounds per game last season. The 7-foot-0 forward earned NCAA West Region Most Outstanding Player award after leading UW to the Final Four after consensus first-team All-Big Ten honors.

Wisconsin junior Sam Dekker also received votes for the AP preseason All-American team. Like Kaminsky, Dekker is also a 2014-15 preseason All-Big Ten selection after averaging 12.4 points and 6.1 rebounds per game a year ago.
