As a true senior last season, Lowry  was a consensus Second-Team All-Big Ten honoree and was one of the leaders of the Northwestern defense that ranked as one of the best scoring defenses in the nation. The high point of his outstanding season came when he set a school single-game record and tied the sixth-best mark in Big Ten history with his six tackles for loss in the win over Nebraska.

For his collegiate career, Lowry racked up 134 tackles, 31.5 TFL and 12.5 sacks. At 6’6″, 290 pounds, Lowry’s speed, athleticism and high football IQ could land him in a training camp come Spring.

Vitale will join Lowry with the group headed to the combine later this month. Vitale was also a consensus Second-Team All-Big Ten honoree and led the team this season in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns.

In four years at Northwestern in which he did not miss a single game, Vitale caught 135 passes for 1,427 yards and 11 touchdowns. While he will likely enter the NFL as a fullback, the 6’2″, 235 pound former super back will be able to showcase his value as a blocker as well as a receiver.

While nobody expects either to be high-round picks, both players are NFL caliber talents who could end up picked in later rounds or added to a team later as an undrafted free agent.

The combine will take place in Indianapolis Feb. 23-29, and the NFL Draft returns to Chicago April 28-30.
